When signing up as a merchant on Universe, you are prompted to sign up as an Individual or a Business.

If you initially sign up as an Individual but need to change your account to a Business type, simply contact our support team and let them know. They'll ask you for some information (including an EIN*) and will be able to update your account to link it to your business.

*An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is also known as a Federal Tax Identification Number. This number is universally used to identify a business entity with the government. Businesses generally need an EIN to operate and sell legally. To sell as a business on Universe, you must provide your EIN and other verification measures to receive payouts for items sold.
