When you upload images, videos, files, and other assets Universe stores them with your website. These assets are used for Image Blocks, Gallery Blocks, Video Blocks, Download Blocks, and more. Each Universe site plan includes a different amount of asset storage.

If you reach your storage limit you can upgrade your plan to unlock more storage. You can also remove files until you are below the limit.

How to remove Video Files

Deleting previously uploaded video files to manage your storage is easy. Open the editor on any page of your website. Create an empty Video Block somewhere on the page. In the Video Palette you will see previously uploaded videos with the file size displayed. Press and hold on a video you would like to delete then select Delete from the options presented.

Please note that when videos are deleted it is permanent. We cannot restore them for you. You will need to upload a new copy if you would like the video back on your website.

How to remove Image Files

Deleting previously uploaded images files to manage your storage is easy. Open the editor on any page of your website. Create an empty Image Block somewhere on the page. In the Image Palette select Photos then tap Recents. You will see previously uploaded images. Tap the X or Press and hold on an image you would like to delete then select Delete from the options presented.

How to remove Download Files

Deleting previously uploaded files to manage your storage is easy. Open the editor on any page of your website. Create an empty Download Block somewhere on the page. In the Download Palette tap Add File then select Previously Uploaded. You will see previously uploaded files for all your Download Blocks. Press and hold on a file you would like to delete then select Delete from the options presented. Deleted files are removed from related Downloads.

Does deleting the Image or Video Block from my website increase my storage?

No. When you delete an Image, Video, or Download Block from your website we do not clear the storage associated. Instead we keep your previously uploaded images and videos to protect you from data loss and to make reuse easy across other pages. To reduce your storage use you must follow the instructions above to delete previously uploaded files.

What if I still see a storage warning?

The most common reason you might see a storage warning after deleting some files is that you need to check your own file types. If you deleted several videos, be sure to check your previously uploaded images as well. If you deleted some images, double check you do not have videos taking up too much space.
