All money is held on a rolling basis to cover purchases
At the moment, all money is held on a rolling basis to cover fraudulent purchases and anything else that might require a purchase to be refunded. Your rolling period is the number of days from when a payment was received.
This is done for the safety of our merchants and protects them from any malicious activities that involve your money.
- Pro subscribers are subject to a hold of 2 business days.
- Free users' sales are subject to a hold of 5 business days.
Once the holding period has expired, money is automatically deposited into your account. Payout timing reflects your account status when the transaction is completed— if you receive an order from a customer and then upgrade to Pro, only new transactions are subject to the 2 business day hold. All orders received prior to upgrading to Pro are still subject to a 5 business-day hold.
Please note that your first payout usually takes a bit longer than subsequent payouts and may take up to 7 business days.
How to know where in the process your money is:
Universe will let you know where your money is in the payout process on the Orders screen in the app (where you normally find your orders).
If the app says TRANSFERRING_STARTED_MESSAGE:
This means that the payout is leaving Universe and is in the process of transferring to your bank account. This process usually takes about one business day after the holding period.
If the app says TRANSFER_COMPLETED_MESSAGE:
This means that the payout has completely left Universe and was deposited into your bank account. It may take some time for your bank to reflect these changes, but everything was successful on our end!
If the app says TRANSFER_FAILED_MESSAGE:
This means that there was an issue sending the money from Universe into your bank account. This could be for a variety of reasons. If you're using Chime, you'll need to use another bank account in Universe. Here is how to change your bank account.
