If you are using a service like Dropbox, Google Drive, or Apple Files, you can create quick links to your files.
Universe (v3.39.0) supports built in digital file uploads/downloads in the app, but there are lots of other services on the web that you might want to link to, like Dropbox, Google Drive or tinyurl.com.
No matter the service you use, be sure to copy the link to share your file and not the URL you are using to view the site.
To link to your file using a Button:
- Add the Button Block to a page on your site.
- Add text to your button. Something that mentions what your site visitor will be taken to is a good idea.
- Customize the Style of your button.
- Select the Open Website option from the Action tab of the Block settings.
- Paste the share link or URL from your file-hosting service (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc).
To link to your file using a Photo:
- Add the Photo Block to a page on your site.
- Select the image which you wish to use. This could be an e-book cover or a preview for the file.
- Customize the Style of your button.
- Select the Open Website option from the Action tab of the block settings.
- Paste the share link or URL from your file-hosting service (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc).
To link to your file using Text:
- Add the Text Block to a page on your site.
- Type in the name of the file, or the name you want to show in the block.
- Customize the Style of your text.
- Select the Open Website option from the Action tab of the block settings.
- Paste the share link or URL from your file-hosting service (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc).
